You can play a vital role in helping girls develop into caring, competent and confident women ready for the future. Several positions are available beginning with a minimum age of 16 years old. Review the position descriptions to find what interests you.

Expectations
Along with job-specific requirements, all staff members must:

  • Ethusiasm and mucst be willing to participate fully in the camp experience.
  • Create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for all girls. Staff will focus on girls and provide patience, support, guidance, and encouragement.
  • Have experience working with children and/or skills related to a specific position.
  • Respect individual differences in other staff and campers.
  • Be able to adjust to a 24 hour-a-day flexible schedule.
  • Act as an appropriate role model for children through actions, appearance, language, professional work habits, and general conduct.
  • Abide by the camp policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Team Player.
  • Meet minimum age requirements and essential job functions.

Job Notes
Additional monetary bonuses are offered for current certification in First Aid, CPR, EMT, Wilderness First Aid, Lifeguard Training, canoeing and archery certifications.  This does not apply to certifications that are paid for by Girl Scouts Heart of Central California or for certifications required for the position.  International staff salaries are calculated differently, please contact the camp director for more information.

Assistant Camp Director (Position filled)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $72-75/day
Qualifications: Administrative, supervisory and camp experience. Knowledge of Girl Scout Program. Possess California/equivalent Class B driver's license, or willingness to obtain.
Responsibilities: Oversee development and implementation of camp programs. Assist in training and supervision of staff. Assist with overall camp administration. Driver for out-of-camp trips.

Business Manager (Position filled)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $50-53/day
Qualifications:Be organized, detail oriented and familiar with Excel. Possess California/equivalent Class B driver’s license, or willingness to obtain. 
Responsibilities: Maintain financial and business records. Assists in daily operations of camp. Driver for out-of-camp trips. Light clerical.

Program Manager (Position filled)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $56-60/day
Qualifications: Supervisory and camp experience required. Knowledge of Girl Scout Program. Possess California/equivalent Class B driver's license, or willingness to obtain.
Responsibilities: Manage specialty programs and staff. Assist with camp administration.

Trip Coordinator (Position filled)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $56-60/day
Qualifications: Experience planning and/or leading overnight trips. Possess California/equivalent Class B driver's license, or willingness to obtain. Previous camp experience desired.
Responsibilities:Supervises and drives for out of camp trip program.  Under the direction of the Camp Director, assists with business and administrative operations of the camp. 

Administrative Assistant (Position filled)
Min. Age:19
Salary: $49-52/day
Qualifications:Basic computer and clerical skills. At least 1 year of prior camp experience.
Responsibilities:Manage camp website. Light clerical. Assist Unit Leaders and Camp Director.

Health Care Manager (Position filled)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $84-90/day
Qualifications: State license or registered as a M.D., P.A., R.N., E.M.T., or L.V.N. Current first aid training and CPR.
Responsibilities: Works in conjunction with local physician. Perform first aid and nursing duties. Supervises health and safety of camp. Maintains health center.

Trip Adventure Leader (2 Positions available)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $49-52/day
Qualifications:Have outdoor skills and backpacking experience.  Certification in Wilderness First Aid, or willingness to obtain.  Valid driver’s license, Class B preferred.
Responsibilities: Manage the planning and implementation of the high adventure out-of-camp programs.

Unit Leader (4 Positions available)(Position filled)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $48-51/day
Qualifications: Experience with children in groups. Supervisory experience preferred. Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities: Supervises 2-4 unit staff. Teach and guide campers in program activities and group living.

Assistant Unit Leader (18 Positions available) (Position filled)
Min. Age: 18*
Salary: $46-48/day
Qualifications: Experience in camping and/or group leadership.
Responsibilities: Teach and guide girls in program activities and group living.

Leadership Director (Position filled)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $50-53/day
Qualifications: Previous camp experience with skills in activity programming, teen communication, camp craft and supervision. Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement leadership counselor-in-training program for teens.

Leadership Assistant
Min. Age: 19
Salary: $47-50/day
Qualifications: Previous camp experience with skills in activity programming, teen communication, camp craft and supervision. Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement leadership counselor-in-training program for teens.

Assistant Horseback Riding Director (Position filled)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $72-75/day
Qualifications:Documented experoence in formal horseback riding instruction for group classes. Certification by a nationally-recognized organization or riding school is preferred. Management or supervisory experience at a horseback riding facility.
Responsibilities: Assist Horseback Riding Director with organizing and administrating all horseback riding activities and care of all the horses.

Horseback Riding Specialist
Min. Age: 18*
Salary: $48-55/day
Qualifications: Documented experience instructing in a general horseback-riding program. Able to pass a basic skills test.
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Horseback Riding Director, implement the horseback riding program and care for all horses.

Horseback Riding Assistant
Min. Age: 16**
Salary: $46-48/day
Qualifications: Documented experience working with horses. Able to pass a basic skills test.
Responsibilities: Assist in the implementation of the horseback riding program and care of the horses.

Waterfront Director
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $51-54/day
Qualifications: Current lifeguard, First Aid & CPR certification.  Canoeing skills.  Supervisory & waterfront experience.
Responsibilities: Organize and administer all waterfront activities.  Supervise all waterfront staff.

Waterfront Assistant (3 Positions available)
Min. Age: 18*
Salary: $46-50/day
Qualifications: Current lifeguard, First Aid and CPR certification. Canoeing experience helpful.
Responsibilities: Assist with lifegaurding.

Program Specialist (3 Separate Positions: Arts & Crafts (Position filled), Science & Nature, Archery (Position filled))
Min. Age: 19
Salary: $48-51/day
Qualifications: Extensive knowledge and experience related to the specific program area.
Responsibilities: Responsible for planning and implementation of specialized program area.  Aids in unit and all camp events.  Organize and maintain supplies & equipment.

Kitchen Manager (Position Filled)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $75-80/day
Qualifications: Experience with quantity menu planning and preparation. Nutritional knowledge. Certification in food handling. Supervisory experience. Knowledge of health department standards.
Responsibilities: Plan and prepare healthy meals for campers and staff. Supervise and manage kitchen staff. Maintain a clean kitchen environment.

Assistant Cook
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $61-63/day
Qualifications: Experience with quantity cooking. Supervisory experience.
Responsibilities: Assist Kitchen Manager in all aspects of kitchen management. Maintain a clean kitchen environment.

Kitchen Assistants (3 Positions available)
Min. Age: 16**
Salary: $43-45/day
Qualifications: Experience in kitchen and cleaning.
Responsibilities: Wash dishes, pots and pans. Assist with meal preparation and serving. Help maintain clean kitchen environment.

Maintenance Support (Position filled)
Min. Age: 21
Salary: $53-55/day
Qualifications: Valid driver's license. Carpentry, plumbing, and electrical aptitude. Willingness to take direction.
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, performs all duties related to camp operations.

*Must be 18 and/or a high school graduate.
**If under 18, a work permit is required unless you are a high school graduate. (All employees must turn 16 on or before their starting date).
